Short Documentary about Northside boxing club 短纪录片
North Minneapolis has a deeply rooted history of racial segregation and inequality. However, it also has dynamic stories of community overcoming struggle. Most recently, the death of George Floyd at the hands of police brought Minneapolis's underlying issues to the surface. In the heart of this community is Northside Boxing Club, a non-profit gym that opened in March 2016 as a safe place to teach fundamentals about life, character, nutrition, education, and boxing. Northside Boxing Club provides much more than a boxing gym, it's given a home and a safe space to the young people in the neighborhood. Finding Home follows two young men- 14year old Jahmir Williams and 25 years old Garret Neal- as they navigate life in this community and the boxing gym became a sanctuary for them.
